Zero-Knowledge Architecture

At BillBell, privacy is built into the first principles of our code. We utilize a Zero-Knowledge model, meaning your sensitive financial data is encrypted before it ever leaves your device.

  • End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): Your creditor name and notes are encrypted using AES-256 keys.
  • No Server Access: Our servers act as a blind postman.
  • Anonymized Authentication: We use secure tokens from Apple and Google.

In compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, we are transparent about how we handle information:

Data Accessed

  • Identity Information: We access your Google email address for authentication only.

Data Usage

  • Authentication: Verify your identity.
  • Service Functionality: Link you to your Family Group.
  • No External Sharing: We do not share data with third parties or AI models.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not sell, trade, or analyze your personal spending habits. Because we cannot decrypt your bills, we physically cannot build a profile of your financial life.
